The Vealey Group is seeking a skilled Automotive Mechanic Technician.

Previous experience working in the automotive industry is preferred. The ideal candidate will also be responsible for performing routine maintenance on passenger vehicles.

Requirements:

2 years of professional experience in the automotive industry.

Must hold a valid driver’s license.

Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Skills:

Mechanical knowledge: Understanding of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.

Operation Monitoring:  Ability to watch gauges, dials, or other indicators to ensure machines are working properly.

Inspect tires, wheels, and vehicles before and after service, following established procedures.

Accurately, document work performed according to company policy.

Use hydraulic jacks and/or automotive lifts to raise vehicles.

Unbolt and re-bolt wheels from/to vehicles using torque wrenches, lug wrenches, and other hand and power tools. Mount and dismount tires onto wheels

Balance wheels using balancing machines and hammer required counterweights onto rims.

Rotate tires on vehicles.

Perform routine maintenance services such as oil changes and lubrications.

Safely pull vehicles in and out of the shop.

Diagnose vehicle components and systems using test driving, diagnostic devices, and experience.

Repair, reline, replace, and adjust brakes.

Follow checklists to examine all important vehicle parts, including belts, hoses, steering systems, spark plugs, brakes, wheel bearings, etc.

Communicate with supervisor to understand vehicle problems and discuss necessary repairs.

Troubleshoot and repair minor electrical systems.

Remove and replace defective mufflers and tailpipes.

Disassemble, repair, and rebuild faulty assemblies such as steering systems and linkages.

Perform front-end alignments and suspension system services.
